Deeptech Vista Mini Max first pictures

Here we have the latest prototype from Deeptech, it is called the Mini Max.
This machine is based on the original Mini with one or two neat additions, including a frequency change, it is now running on 18 Khz.

As always with the Mini range the controls are very simple
The Mini Max has an added discrimination control which even at maximum will only reject Iron.

Deeptech Vista Mini field test by Graham

My first outing with the vista mini went very well indeed, if I'm being truthful I really wasn't expecting the machine to perform half as well as it did, when you try anything that is the cheapest in the range you have thoughts of lack of performance but what I've found so far it really packs a hell of a punch for the money.

I want to start metal detecting with a £300 budget how do I start ?

I would say there are a few choices of quality metal detectors out there within your budget

Metal detecting clothing

Camouflage why is it so popular with metal detectorists ?

I for one am a lover of camouflage and very often asked why do I wear it and cover my machines in one type or another.
One reason is genuine military clothing has always been good quality and reasonably priced...however the main reason I wear cammo is so I am not seen by other detectorists...who may well be up to no good.

XP Deus Hoard hunting

Out and about looking for deep targets with the XP Deus

Having read about Saxon hoards in the recent news we decided to have a Sundays metal detecting of a different nature.
Our aim was to dig deep targets, so armed with the Deus 13" coils we headed off onto our fields. Our approach was slightly different to normal, we wanted a set up that gave us information based on the size and depth of the target, we were not interested in whether it was a high or low conductor, just size and depth. Having run through the Deus options we both decided to choose the pitch feature.
